Everything you need to know about the many FIRE approaches to achieving financial independence

What is FIRE?

FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) is a personal finance and lifestyle movement in which followers apply the practices of frugality, actively saving, and investing early and in reliable assets to ultimately achieve financial independence and have the option to retire early, often decades before the commonly accepted retirement age of 65.

In practice, FIRE followers save aggressively, via conscious budgeting, conscious consumption to reduce their spending as much as possible, to save more of their salary and income than the average person.

Beyond frugality, FIRE followers aim to save more by maximizing their income, via upskilling, strategic career moves, side hustles, and additional small business opportunities.
